Acknowledgement of Country

This website contains stories of towns established on the land of the Bengalat balug of the Wadawurrung people. We acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of these lands and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities who read these stories.

John Bryant

John Bryant was born in Geelong. His family built a house in Barwon Heads and moved here's a support to John's father who was an asthma sufferer. The climate suited him well. As an early resident, John has great memories of primary school at the Lobster pot before moving to Golf Links Rd. His family home abutted Barwon Heads golf club and he recounts some of his adventures there. He also explored a cave in Barwon Heads bluff with friends and has revisited it to ensure it's survival ! John still loves Barwon Heads and is a member of the Bowls Club.
