Acknowledgement of Country

This website contains stories of towns established on the land of the Bengalat balug of the Wadawurrung people. We acknowledge them as the Traditional Owners of these lands and pay our respects to their Elders, past and present, and Aboriginal Elders of other communities who read these stories.

Several interviews include copies of photographs sourced from either:

Robyn Spry

Robin Spry has had a long association with Queenscliff. She has seen many

changes especially in the areas of trade and social activity. She has had a long

association with the golf clubs of Queenscliff and Barwon Heads and recounts her

memories of their earlier days. Robin has also been very involved with the

Queenscliff Museum. She has a keen interest and knowledge of birdlife in this very

important wetland area of habitat for the migratory birds, some come thousands of

kilometres to spend the summer in this area.
