From Ocean Grove to Ambon

Next week, Ocean Grove Rotarian Kath Venters will join members of the Rotary Club of Wendouree Breakfast and other participating Rotary clubs on the 2026 service trip to Ambon, Indonesia.

The 2026 Rotary Ambon team will spend more than a week working alongside local communities, schools and organisations. Their planned activities include visiting schools, providing educational materials, spending time with children in classrooms, supporting local soccer programs and visiting Caleb House. The team is also exploring opportunities to contribute to maternal and child health initiatives.

This is not a fly-in, fly-out exercise. Rotary has built relationships in Ambon over many years, returning to work with people and organisations who know what their communities need. Previous visits have included support for education, children, community facilities, clean water and practical service projects.
